1 The cantons ensure that landfills and other sites polluted by waste (polluted sites) are remediated if such sites lead to harmful effects or nuisances or if there is a concrete risk that such effects may arise. The Federal Council may enact regulations about the need for remediation and on the objectives and urgency of remediation work.
2 The cantons draw up a register of polluted sites that is accessible to the public.
3 They may carry out the investigation, monitoring and remediation of polluted sites themselves or instruct third parties to do so if:
1 I Cantoni provvedono affinché le discariche e gli altri siti inquinati da rifiuti (siti inquinati) vengano risanati se sono all’origine di effetti nocivi o molesti oppure se esiste il pericolo concreto che tali effetti si producano. Il Consiglio federale può emanare prescrizioni sulla necessità del risanamento, come pure sugli obiettivi e l’urgenza dello stesso.
2 I Cantoni allestiscono un catasto dei siti inquinati accessibile al pubblico.
