I. From hand to hand

1 A gift from hand to hand is made when the donor presents the object to the recipient.

2 Gifts of title or rights in rem to immovable property are not effective until an entry is made in the land register.

3 The entry presupposes a valid promise to give.

1 La donation manuelle a lieu par la remise que le donateur fait de la chose au donataire.

2 La donation d’immeubles ou de droits réels immobiliers n’est parfaite que par son inscription au registre foncier.

3 L’inscription ne peut avoir lieu qu’en vertu d’une promesse de donner valablement faite.
