Art. 9 Recall

1 The National Bank may recall note denominations, types and series.

2 The public cash offices of the Confederation shall accept the recalled notes in payment at their nominal value for a period of six months following the first notice of recall.

Notwithstanding paragraph 4 and subject to Article 8, the National Bank is required to exchange at nominal value recalled notes that were issued from 1976 as part of the sixth banknote series or as a subsequent series.6

4 The equivalent value of recalled notes that are not returned for exchange shall be allocated after 25 years from the first notice of the recall as follows:

a.
one fifth of 90 per cent of the equivalent value shall go to the Swiss Fund for Aid in cases of Uninsurable Damage by Natural Forces and of the remaining four fifths of the 90 per cent of equivalent value, one third goes to the Confederation and two thirds to the cantons;
b.
10 per cent of the equivalent value shall be retained by the National Bank in order to meet the exchange obligation under paragraph 3.7

Art. 9 Ritiro dei biglietti

1 La Banca nazionale svizzera può ritirare determinati tagli, tipi e serie di biglietti.

2 Le casse pubbliche della Confederazione accettano in pagamento al loro valore nominale, nei sei mesi che seguono la data della prima pubblicazione, i biglietti ritirati.

3 Senza pregiudizio delle disposizioni del capoverso 4, la Banca nazionale svizzera è tenuta a cambiare al loro valore nominale i biglietti ritirati che sono stati emessi dal 1976 e appartenenti alla sesta serie di biglietti o a una serie successiva. È fatto salvo l’articolo 8.7

4 Trascorsi 25 anni a contare dalla prima pubblicazione del ritiro, il controvalore dei biglietti ritirati non presentati per il cambio è attribuito come segue:

a.
il 90 per cento è attribuito per un quinto al Fondo svizzero di soccorso per danni causati dalla natura e non assicurabili; un terzo dell’importo rimanente del 90 per cento del controvalore è attribuito alla Confederazione e due terzi ai Cantoni;
b.
il 10 per cento è attribuito alla Banca nazionale svizzera per l’adempimento dell’obbligo di cambio di cui al capoverso 3.8
