Plant protection substances put into circulation lawfully in areas covered by the Agreement of 21 June 1999208 between the Swiss Confederation and the European Union on Trade in Agricultural Products may be circulated in Switzerland. If this is contrary to the interests of the general public, the Federal Council may restrict or ban the import and circulation of such substances.

Les produits phytosanitaires qui ont été mis en circulation en toute légalité dans le champ d’application territorial de l’Accord du 21 juin 1999 entre la Confédération suisse et la Communauté européenne relatif aux échanges de produits agricoles206 peuvent être mis en circulation en Suisse. Le Conseil fédéral peut restreindre ou interdire l’importation et la mise en circulation de produits phytosanitaires en cas de mise en danger des intérêts publics suisses.
