1 Ein Arzneimittel darf für Tiere nur verschrieben oder abgegeben werden, wenn die verschreibende Person das Tier oder den Tierbestand kennt.
2 Ist das Arzneimittel für Nutztiere bestimmt, so muss die verschreibende Person auch deren Gesundheitszustand kennen.
3 Der Bundesrat kann verbieten, dass für Nutztiere Arzneimittel verschrieben und abgegeben oder an Nutztieren Arzneimittel angewendet werden, die nach Artikel 9 Absatz 2 keine Zulassung brauchen. Er kann die Verschreibung, die Abgabe oder die Anwendung auch beschränken.100

3 The Federal Council may prohibit the prescription and dispensing of medicinal products or the application of medicinal products that need no authorisation in accordance with Article 9 paragraph 2 for production animals. It may also restrict the prescription, dispensing or application of these products.100
