1 Le sementi, il materiale di moltiplicazione e il materiale vegetativo di moltiplicazione devono provenire da aziende biologiche.
2 La pianta madre da cui provengono le sementi e la pianta genitrice da cui proviene il materiale di moltiplicazione vegetativo devono essere prodotte secondo il presente capitolo, durante almeno una generazione e, nel caso di colture perenni, durante due cicli vegetativi.
3 In deroga al capoverso 1, può essere utilizzato materiale vegetativo moltiplicato in vitro e certificato secondo l’ordinanza del 7 dicembre 199865 sulle sementi.66
3bis Il DEFR stabilisce una lista di specie o di sottogruppi di specie di cui esiste in Svizzera una quantità sufficiente di sementi e di materiale vegetativo di moltiplicazione di produzione biologica e un numero sufficiente di varietà di produzione biologica.67
4 Sono fatte salve le esigenze stabilite nell’ordinanza sulle sementi.

2 In the case of seeds, the mother plants, and in the case of plant propagating material, the parent plants must have been cultivated in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter for at least a generation or for the duration of two plant cycles in the case of perennial crops.
3 In derogation from paragraph 1, plant material which has been propagated in-vitro and certified in accordance with the Seeds Ordinance of 7 December 199866 may be used.67
3bis The EAER shall establish a list of species or sub-species of which there are sufficient quantities of organically produced seeds and plant propagating material and a sufficient number of organically produced varieties in Switzerland.68
