1 Il pagamento di un duplicato è liberatorio, ancorché non sia dichiarato che tale pagamento annulli gli effetti degli altri duplicati. Il trattario resta però obbligato per ogni duplicato accettato del quale non abbia ottenuto la restituzione.
2 Il girante che ha trasferito i duplicati a persone diverse e i giranti susseguenti sono obbligati per tutti i duplicati che portino la loro firma e non siano stati restituiti.
1 Where one duplicate has been sent for acceptance, a note must be made on the others of the name of the person now in possession of the despatched duplicate. The latter is obliged to surrender it to the rightful holder of any other duplicate.
