1 La Confederazione emana principi sulle reti di sentieri, percorsi pedonali e vie ciclabili.
2 Può sostenere e coordinare i provvedimenti dei Cantoni e di terzi per la realizzazione e la manutenzione di tali reti, nonché per informare sulle medesime. In tale contesto rispetta le competenze dei Cantoni.
3 Nell’adempimento dei suoi compiti, prende in considerazione tali reti. Sostituisce i sentieri, i percorsi pedonali o le vie ciclabili che deve sopprimere.

1 The Confederation shall lay down principles with regard to the network of footpaths, hiking trails and cycle paths.
2 It may support and coordinate measures by the cantons and third parties to construct and maintain such networks and to provide information about them. In doing so, it shall respect the powers of the cantons.
3 It shall take account of these networks in the fulfilment of its duties. It shall replace paths and trails that it has to close.
