Art. 291 Conciliation hearing

1 The court shall summon the parties to a hearing and establish whether there are grounds for divorce.

2 If grounds for divorce are established, the court shall attempt to secure an agreement between the spouses with regard to the effects of the divorce.

3 If grounds for divorce are not established or if an agreement cannot be reached, the court shall set a deadline for the plaintiff to submit a written statement of grounds for the action. In the event of default, the proceedings shall be dismissed as groundless.
