Art. 1 Aim

1 This Act is intended to:

a.
conserve the forest in its area and spatial distribution;
b.
protect the forest as a near-natural community;
c.
ensure that the forest can fulfil its functions, in particular its protective, social and economic functions (forest functions);
d.
promote and maintain the forestry sector.

2 It is furthermore intended to contribute to the protection of human life and important material assets against avalanches, landslides, erosion and rockfall (natural events).

Art. 1 Scopo

1 La presente legge ha lo scopo di:

a.
garantire la conservazione della foresta nella sua estensione e ripartizione geografica;
b.
proteggere la foresta come ambiente naturale di vita;
c.
garantire che la foresta possa svolgere le sue funzioni, in particolare protettive, sociali ed economiche (funzioni della foresta);
d.
promuovere e tutelare l’economia forestale.

2 Deve inoltre contribuire a proteggere la vita umana e beni materiali considerevoli da valanghe, scoscendimenti, erosione e cadute di pietre (catastrofi naturali).
