1 The notification authority shall review and assess the documents submitted in conjunction with the federal authorities responsible for the technical matters in question (assessment authorities) and shall inform the notifier of the outcome within a period specified by the Federal Council.
2 A substance for which notification has been submitted may be placed on the market if the notification authority has accepted the notification or if it has not requested any further documents or information concerning the notification within the above-mentioned period.
3 The Federal Council shall issue regulations on the requirements and the procedure for the notification of new substances. It shall specify any exemptions from mandatory notification, taking into account in particular the intended use, the type of substance or preparation and the quantities that are to be produced or placed on the market.
1 L’organo di notifica controlla e valuta i documenti pervenuti unitamente ai servizi federali competenti per gli aspetti tecnici (Servizi di valutazione) e comunica il risultato al notificante entro un termine fissato dal Consiglio federale.
2 Una sostanza notificata può essere immessa sul mercato se l’organo di notifica ha accettato la notifica oppure se entro il termine fissato non ha richiesto ulteriori documenti o informazioni.
3 Il Consiglio federale emana prescrizioni concernenti le esigenze e la procedura di notifica di nuove sostanze. Stabilisce le eccezioni all’obbligo di notifica, tenendo conto segnatamente dello scopo d’impiego, del tipo di sostanza o di preparato nonché delle quantità che saranno fabbricate o immesse sul mercato.
