1 Advisory services are intended for people employed in agriculture, household management in agriculture, agricultural organisations or in the development of rural areas, as well as in ensuring and promoting the quality of agricultural products. Such people are supported in their professional work and in relation to their further professional training.
2 The cantonal authorities provide advisory services at a cantonal level.
3 The Confederation provides financial assistance within the limits of the approved credits for advisory services to supra-regional or national organisations or institutions that are active in special areas, as well as to national advisory offices.
3bis The Confederation may support preliminary investigations for communal project initiatives.180
4 Support is provided for advisory activities aimed at promoting the exchange of knowledge, information and experience between researchers and those working in the field, between agricultural businesses and those mentioned in paragraph 1. The Federal Council shall draw up details concerning areas of activity and types of services.
5 The Federal Council shall regulate the requirements for the organisations, institutions and advisory offices and the advisors employed by them.

1 Die Beratung richtet sich an Personen, die in der Landwirtschaft, in der bäuerlichen Hauswirtschaft, in landwirtschaftlichen Organisationen oder im Rahmen der Entwicklung des ländlichen Raums sowie in der Sicherung und Förderung der Qualität landwirtschaftlicher Produkte tätig sind. Diese Personen werden durch Beratung in ihren beruflichen Prozessen begleitet und in der berufsorientierten Weiterbildung unterstützt.
2 Die Kantone stellen die Beratung auf kantonaler Ebene sicher.
3 Der Bund richtet im Rahmen der bewilligten Kredite an überregionale oder gesamtschweizerische Organisationen oder Institutionen, die in Spezialbereichen tätig sind, sowie an gesamtschweizerische Beratungszentralen Finanzhilfen für Leistungen in der Beratung aus.
3bis Der Bund kann beratende Tätigkeiten bei der Vorabklärung für gemeinschaftliche Projektinitiativen unterstützen.180
4 Unterstützt werden Beratungstätigkeiten, die den Wissens-, Informations- und Erfahrungsaustausch zwischen Forschung und Praxis, unter den landwirtschaftlichen Betrieben und den Personen nach Absatz 1 fördern. Der Bundesrat legt die Tätigkeitsgebiete und Leistungskategorien im Einzelnen fest.
5 Der Bundesrat regelt die Anforderungen an die Organisationen, Institutionen und Beratungszentralen und an die Beraterinnen und Berater, die von diesen beschäftigt werden.
