1 The notification authority shall review and assess the documents submitted in conjunction with the federal authorities responsible for the technical matters in question (assessment authorities) and shall inform the notifier of the outcome within a period specified by the Federal Council.
2 A substance for which notification has been submitted may be placed on the market if the notification authority has accepted the notification or if it has not requested any further documents or information concerning the notification within the above-mentioned period.
3 The Federal Council shall issue regulations on the requirements and the procedure for the notification of new substances. It shall specify any exemptions from mandatory notification, taking into account in particular the intended use, the type of substance or preparation and the quantities that are to be produced or placed on the market.
1 Die Anmeldestelle überprüft und beurteilt die eingereichten Unterlagen zusammen mit den für die fachspezifischen Belange zuständigen Bundesstellen (Beurteilungsstellen) und teilt der Anmelderin das Ergebnis innerhalb einer vom Bundesrat festgelegten Frist mit.
2 Ein angemeldeter Stoff darf in Verkehr gebracht werden, wenn die Anmeldestelle die Anmeldung akzeptiert hat oder wenn sie innerhalb dieser Frist keine weiteren Unterlagen oder Auskünfte zur Anmeldung verlangt hat.
3 Der Bundesrat erlässt Vorschriften über die Anforderungen und das Verfahren zur Anmeldung neuer Stoffe. Er legt die Ausnahmen von der Anmeldepflicht fest. Dabei berücksichtigt er insbesondere den Verwendungszweck, die Art des Stoffes oder der Zubereitung sowie die Mengen, die hergestellt oder in Verkehr gebracht werden sollen.
