1 The cantons shall verify whether installation operators have met their information obligations under Article 40 paragraph 2 and Article 53 paragraph 1 and 3 and whether the information provided is complete and traceable.171
2 The FOEN makes the required information available to the cantons.
3 If a canton determines that the requirements of this Ordinance have not been met, it informs the FOEN without delay.
4 The FOEN may consult the cantons in order to answer questions if this is necessary in order to implement the provisions on the ETS.172

1 Die Kantone überprüfen, ob die Betreiber von Anlagen ihren Meldepflichten nach den Artikeln 40 Absatz 2 und 53 Absatz 1 und 3 nachkommen und ob die gemeldeten Informationen vollständig und nachvollziehbar sind.171
2 Das BAFU stellt den Kantonen die dafür benötigten Angaben zur Verfügung.
3 Stellt ein Kanton fest, dass die Anforderungen dieser Verordnung nicht erfüllt sind, so informiert er das BAFU unverzüglich.
4 Das BAFU kann die Kantone zur Klärung von Fragen beiziehen, die für den Vollzug der Bestimmungen zum EHS zu beantworten sind.172
