Art. 29 Transitional provision

1 Until the Federal Council has designated the biotopes of national importance (Art. 16) and the mire landscapes of outstanding beauty and national importance (Art. 22) and until the various inventories have been finalised,

a.
the cantons shall ensure through immediate and suitable measures that any deterioration in the condition of biotopes considered to be of national importance on the basis of available knowledge and documentation is prevented;
b.79
in response to specific requests for subsidies, the FOEN shall assess the importance of a biotopes or mire landscape on the basis of available knowledge and documentation;
c.80
the cantons shall ensure through immediate and suitable measures that any deterioration in the condition of mire landscapes considered to be of outstanding beauty and national importance on the basis of available knowledge and documentation is prevented.

2 Financing in terms of paragraph 1 letters a and b is provided in accordance with Article 17 and 18, and financing in terms of paragraph 1 letter c is provided in accordance with Article 22.81

3 The federal authorities and agencies and of federal institutions and enterprises shall take immediate measures as specified in paragraphs 1 letters a and c in the fields for which they are responsible in accordance with the applicable special federal legislation.82

Art. 29 Übergangsbestimmung

1 Bis der Bundesrat die Biotope von nationaler Bedeutung (Art. 16) und die Moorlandschaften von besonderer Schönheit und von nationaler Bedeutung (Art. 22) bezeichnet hat und solange die einzelnen Inventare nicht abgeschlossen sind,

a.
sorgen die Kantone mit geeigneten Sofortmassnahmen dafür, dass sich der Zustand von Biotopen, denen aufgrund der vorhandenen Erkenntnisse und Unterlagen nationale Bedeutung zukommt, nicht verschlechtert;
b.79
bestimmt das BAFU im Einzelfall aufgrund der vorhandenen Erkenntnisse und Unterlagen bei Beitragsgesuchen die Bedeutung eines Biotops oder einer Moorlandschaft;
c.80
sorgen die Kantone mit geeigneten Sofortmassnahmen dafür, dass sich der Zustand von Moorlandschaften, denen aufgrund der vorhandenen Erkenntnisse und Unterlagen besondere Schönheit und nationale Bedeutung zukommt, nicht verschlechtert.

2 Die Finanzierung gemäss Absatz 1 Buchstaben a und b richtet sich nach den Artikeln 17 und 18, jene gemäss Absatz 1 Buchstabe c nach Artikel 22.81

3 Die Behörden und Amtsstellen des Bundes sowie seiner Anstalten und Betriebe treffen dort, wo sie nach der anwendbaren Spezialgesetzgebung des Bundes zuständig sind, die Sofortmassnahmen nach Absatz 1 Buchstaben a und c.82
