1 Das Zentralamt teilt den eidgenössischen und kantonalen Kontrollämtern einen bestimmten örtlichen Geschäftskreis zu. Bei kantonalen Kontrollämtern soll der Geschäftskreis in der Regel nicht über das Gebiet des betreffenden Kantons hinausreichen.
2 Die Kontrollämter kontrollieren im Geschäftsdomizil von Herstellern, Lieferanten und Händlern ihres Kreises, ob die Waren, die dem Gesetz unterstellt sind, seinen Anforderungen entsprechen.

1 The Central Office shall assign the federal and cantonal Assay Offices a specific geographical scope of operation. In the case of cantonal Assay Offices, the scope of operation shall, as a rule, not extend beyond the boundary of the canton in question.
2 The Assay Offices verify in the place of domicile of manufacturers, suppliers and dealers in their scope whether the articles governed by the Act satisfy its conditions.
