1 Die Kantone sorgen für Schutz und Unterhalt der Biotope von regionaler und lokaler Bedeutung.
2 In intensiv genutzten Gebieten inner- und ausserhalb von Siedlungen sorgen die Kantone für ökologischen Ausgleich mit Feldgehölzen, Hecken, Uferbestockungen oder mit anderer naturnaher und standortgemässer Vegetation. Dabei sind die Interessen der landwirtschaftlichen Nutzung zu berücksichtigen.

2 In intensively used areas within and outside residential areas, the cantons shall ensure ecological compensation by means of thickets, hedgerows, riparian tree plantations, or other near-natural vegetation adapted to the site. In doing so, due consideration must be given to agricultural requirements.
